Quentin Willson and the Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association (LTDA) are urging a reduction in VAT on public electric vehicle (EV) charging to help London's black cab drivers, nearly 60% of whom use zero-emission vehicles. They face a higher 20% VAT compared to the 5% for home charging. Despite backing from industry leaders and a suggestion from the House of Lords, the government rejected the proposal, citing financial concerns.
