On Tuesday 6th September, the FairCharge Team and Quentin Willson went to the Treasury to continue pushing for a reduction in VAT from 20% to 5% on public EV chargers.
The team was very frank about what the catastrophic increases in charging costs will mean for the EV transition.
With soaring energy prices and an increasingly widening gap between home and public EV charging costs, it is essential that the Treasury addresses this VAT discrepancy.
As Liz Truss takes over as Prime Minister, we hope her Government listens to the importance of making this simple, relatively low-cost intervention .
